The National Youth Achievement Award Council is a non-profit organization that administrates the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) in Singapore. The NYAA Council is advised by an Advisory Board chaired by Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and the NYAA Council is chaired by Mr Teo Ser Luck, Entrepreneur, Investor and Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. It is administered by the NYAA Secretariat, which is headed by Mr James Soh Executive Director.
The NYAA Council is an Institute of Public Character (IPC) in Singapore. The NYAA Council serves in many government committees and non-governmental organizations in Singapore as well as in many international agencies worldwide.
NYAA Council develops young people’s development through an exciting holistic and balanced non-competitive self-development programme of voluntary leisure time activities, designed to provide our young people with a platform to develop personal qualities and skills to make a difference to themselves, their communities and the world as exceptional individuals.
Our mission is built on three key domains: Developing Personal Qualities, Learning New Skills and Service to the Community.
This is prevalent in the NYAA Programme components which are: Service Learning, Outdoor Appreciation, Healthy Living and Community Leadership Initiative. Through the NYAA Programme, young people are motivated to create an impact to society and deliver change to bring about a positive outcome, who can make a difference to those whom they serve, and contribute to society and nation.
