One with Nature
Objective
Engaging in outdoor learning* fosters confidence as students enter unfamiliar environments beyond their homes and classrooms. It cultivates problem-solving skills, enhances teamwork, strengthens their comfort and appreciation for the natural world, and builds confidence in operating outside their comfort zones.
Butterfly Award Criteria for Outdoor Appreciation:
- At least 8 hours of regular activities spread over four months and beyond.
- Each recorded activity is capped at a maximum of 2 hours.
Butterfly Award (BA) Incentive at NYAA Bronze Award Level
*Participation in outdoor activities undertaken as part of the NYAA Award is voluntary and carried out at the participant’s own risk. Outdoor pursuits involve inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, loss or damage.
Participants are responsible for conducting proper planning and risk assessments, ensuring adequate supervision, and implementing appropriate safety precautions prior to and during any activity.
NYAA shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation in such activities.
